The Bay of Plenty branch of the New Zealand Tree Crops Association recently presented the College's Innovative Horticulture Programme with a cheque for $6,000.

This sum was half of the profits from their annual tree sale.

As of the beginning of next year our programme will incorporate a number of new learning areas including simple automation using the Arduino IDE (watering plants, electronic scarecrows, weather monitoring etc), Arduino compatible drones, tissue culture and hydroponics. This kind donation has enabled us to purchase specialist equipment which would otherwise be beyond our wildest dreams. Thank you, BOP Tree Croppers!
