All throughout the Music Department, in every available space beautiful music is being made!

The senior students are busy working on their original compositions or rehearsing their songs for their performance assessments. At the moment I am the lucky recipient of hearing their progress, talent and watching their love for music and commitment to the art form flourish.

We are looking forward to being able to share our music with our school and the wider community very soon. Ella Bullot took the first brave step to sing at our last whole school assembly and we look forward to having another student sing at the next one.

Our exceptional year 8 leaders Mitchell Preston, Emily Bourke, Felix Denyer and their team have started a Year 7 and 8 singing assembly fortnightly. The first one was held last week and it was great to see all the students singing so enthusiastically and filling the hall with such fabulous sounds.

The next exciting event for the Performing Arts Department is getting ready to participate in Showquest. Mrs Dean and our Arts Captains, along with myself and our AV Captain, are piecing this together to combine some of the incredible talent we have within our school community. This really is a fabulous experience for our students and incorporates dance, drama, music, sound and lighting technologies. There will also be opportunities for students to work on other aspects of the performance such as make-up, costuming and props.
