Fiefia Night
On Friday, 28 October we celebrated 10 years of Fiefia Night at Katikati College! It was a night of dance, song, laughter, and celebration. This year we were fortunate enough to have a group of 24 ex-students form a committee and lead Fiefia Night. This goes to show the positive impact that Katikati College and Fiefia Night had on our past students and our community as a whole. Shout out to the Western Bay of Plenty Matching Fund Grant, Grassroots Trust, and Ministry of Pacific Peoples for funding our Fiefia Night this year. You helped us make this year our biggest and best Fiefia Night yet! Our very own ex-student Kalisi Tu'uholoaki and her band called Major Seven accompanied most of our dances on the night and they were amazing! So many of our ex-students came back to perform, cook and serve food, and be a part of this stunning night.
Massive shout out to our Pasifika church leaders, school staff, Pasifika students, their families, and our community for supporting this event. Thank you to AvaNiu ECE group for performing this year and also to the Kapahaka group for their entertaining performances as well! It was so awesome to see old staff come back to share this amazing night with us. It's definitely one for the books!
Have a great holiday and wonderful Christmas break everyone! Mālō
