The Billabong Grom Series (which is a National Surfing Event) was held at Piha Beach on 5th & 6th March with four Katikati College surfers competing.

Thomas Carter had a top surf in the U17's finishing 5th=.

Tanner Hayes, Cameron Hankins and Ayrton Yarrell also surfed extremely well to come 13th=
