Mrs Meredith and I took 4 teams from the Katikati College Chemistry classes to Chemquest in Hamilton. This event is held in the evening and involves 5 rounds of general knowledge Chemistry questions which aim to cater for all Chemistry abilities. It is an exciting trip as it is for some students, the first time they have been to a University and been in a lecture theatre. They compete against other schools in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty. We have not done this event since 2019 so it was significant for our school to participate. 

They were impressed that we could bring over so many teams. Our best placed team were 10th overall and it was only the Chemistry related Music questions in the last round that dropped them from being third as they were in the other rounds. Free pizza and soda were given prior to the results and all teams placed well. There were 49 teams all up.
