ARC - Aspiration, Responsibility and Citizenship

Hilary Johnson —

The term is moving rapidly towards senior exam time, and all students in Year 9 through to 13 will be sitting exams of some kind in Term 4. With this in mind our current ARC focus is time management. This includes planning for and meeting deadlines, as well as using class time wisely.

It is worth pondering the thought that time is one of the few things that cannot be recycled. Each day starts with 86,400 seconds and those that we haven’t used at the end of the day are lost forever. It is really important that our students make the most effective use of their time at school and that they actively plan to do this.

All senior students should have in place a personal study programme leading up to their Term 3 exams and NCEA exams and should seek help from their teachers to do this if they need to. Does your child have such a programme in place?

Students in Years 9 and 10 will receive guidance in study and revision in Term 4 as part of our ARC programme.
