Katikati College Film Makers win Tauranga Youth Development Team Youth Film Competition.

Two films were entered by Katikati College students in this recent competition.

Both films ended up being finalists in the competition, with voting taking place through a Facebook poll to select the winner. The winners were Nicole Harvey, Shekinah Mudaliar and Forest Chinnery. Their film was about a horse that wanted to be a unicorn. Nicole's two horses were very cooperative, one as the dreamer and the other as the unicorn with a beautiful horn attached. The film was made as part of a project for Media Studies, earning credits towards NCEA Level 1. The runner up was year 10 student, Jack Tidman, who created a wonderful flip animation about aspiring to be on stage at the Talent Quest and overcoming bullies and nerves to get there.
