Innovative Horticulture students recently visited a number of local growers to see how they manage conditions to maximise production.

The itinerary included a grower of alstroemeria flowers, a nursery growing figs, passionfruit, raspberries and grapes under cover, and a kiwifruit orchard. The learning focus was on how growers can manipulate or control factors which influence plant growth in order to maximise production and quality.
