The Katikati College Leos Club had its inaugural evening on Monday the 6th of August.

The evening was to officially open the club and induct all new members. Attendees included members of the sponsoring Katikati Lions Club, Zone Chairman and Leos from Waihi College. The Leos Club is a youth organisation subsidiary of the Lions Club International. Leo stands for Leadership, Experience, Opportunity. The Katikati College Leos Club will have an initial focus on providing lunches for students who don’t have them and assisting the Katikati Lions Club. The Club asks if there are any members of the community who have over laden fruit trees and could spare a few bags of fruit? Moving forward, projects will be aimed at helping the wider community with suggestions including fundraising for the Waihi Beach Surf Club. Students who are interested in joining can get more information from the student leaders Natalie Rochat, Maddie Schnackenberg and Ben Robertson or from Teacher In Charge Mrs Huggard.
