The Schools' rowing season culminated in the MAADI CUP held at Lake Karapiro last term.  

Grace Carver competed in the Girls​ ​U16​ and​ U17​ Singles. In the U16’s Grace managed to get​ into a repecharge on the second day and achieved a personal best however she missed qualifying for the finals by a small margin.​

The U17’s race proved to be too fast for such a young competitor.​ The calibre of the competitors at this regatta is huge with the winners​ of the finals most probably ending up representing New Zealand.​ Grace has worked hard on her training at Bay Coast Rowing Club all​ summer. The club is based on the banks of the Wairoa River with Katikati College, Otumoetai College and Bethlehem College all training​ together.​

We would love to host some more​ Katikati College students so if you are interested you should get in touch with B​a​y Coast Rowing or the Sports Coordinator.​ The new season will start in September.
