The boys have won through after attending selection tournaments and training camps in Auckland, Wellington and Hamilton over the past year. It is a real achievement to have four boys selected from Katikati College in the squad of 20.

Selectors considered player development around skills and athleticism as well as a willingness to to learn and positivity. From here the boys will continue to develop their skills, agility and fitness and the game-knowledge necessary to compete at a World Championship level. The boys will now begin a fundraising campaign in order to raise the $5000-$6000 each needed to get them to the Poland along with coach and mentor Peter Besley who has been the driving force behind their success in this sport.
