The Hamilton Boys High School Shoot was held on Friday 8th July at the Waikato  Gun Club. Katikati College sent a good sized team with 6 shooters including their first female team member Courtney Amrein who is making a good start to the sport.

A field of 220 shooters were competing for the top placings on the day. All of our team shot well in the harsh weather conditions and Ryan Crapp took out the 3rd place for the day overall. The following day NZ Clay Target held the North Island Secondary School championships. A field of 240 shooters were there with some South Island schools coming for the main North Island event for the year. The team shot reasonably well with Blair Hamilton and Ryan Crapp making shoot offs on the day. Ryan went on to win the High Overall North Island Champs title making him North Island No 1. He also placed 1st in the single rise event and 2nd in the points score event. An awesome win for Katikati College.
