Matariki kai
Students in Year 10Chg Health class recently made some meals with a Matariki aspect.
They conducted a health investigation and learned how Matariki ties in with the production of crops, identified which vegetables are traditionally Maori vegetables which if any they could use in the balanced portioned meal they cooked for their families to celebrate new beginnings. The time felt fitting to start anew after Covid-19 and make a kind gesture to their parents while applying theory in a practical sense.
