Surf Lifesaving

Juliet Dunlop-Fraser —

Libby and Tessa Bradley competed in a number of surf lifesaving events over the holidays for the Mount Surf Club, most recently at Mt Maunganui beach for the Eastern Region Champs  which attracted top surf athletes from around NZ.

The best results from the Eastern Region competition were:

  • Tessa - U16 Girls 3rd surf swim, 2nd diamond race;
  • Libby - U19 Girls 1st board race, 3rd run swim run.

Prior to the surf events Libby also competed in the grueling Mt Monster 24.5km race in December coming 4th in the U19 female age group in 2:48:07. This involved a 5km run, 1.5km swim, 12km ski and 6km board. Tessa combined with an U19 female team and completed the 5km run leg.

Libby also swam the 4km Round the Mt swim in early January coming home the winner in the Open Female for the race in a time of 55:05.

Well done girls!
