Staff member Mrs Sandy Kindley was recently awarded the New Zealand Hockey Silver Service Award for Service to Hockey.

This award recognises her more than 20 years' volunteer service to the sport as a coach, administrator, fundraiser and supporter. Mrs Kindley received the award on April 26 at a glitzy dinner in Auckland where the Blacksticks were in attendance and also received their annual players' awards. Mrs Kindley also won a gold medal for New Zealand in the Trans Tasman Masters Hockey tournament held in Australia's Gold Coast in the first week of term.
