Katikati College and the Visual Arts department are so excited to hear of Samantha Besley's successful scholarship on Design. Samantha worked tirelessly to produce her design portfolio board which was accompanied by her 10 pages of developmental thinking worksheets. She did a fantastic job and we’re so excited that her hard work paid off. We wish Samantha all the very best on her next ventures.

Samantha's assignments required her to produce branding and collateral design around a chosen theme/event/new company. She chose to produce a new movement to encourage young woman to get involved in the dairy farming industry, which she is very passionate about.

Samantha's brief for her Level 3 Design Portfolio Board:

The organisation Woman's Field is promoting a movement to get young women involved in dairy farming. Woman's Field will be funding an event available to all women throughout New Zealand. This event will give them an insight into the dairy industry. With an empowering and inviting manner the aim is to encourage women into a dairy farming career.

I have been asked to design outcomes including:

• A magazine cover page for the Woman's Field magazine

• A double page spread that will feature as promotion in a NZ farming magazine

• Brochure design

• Product design including overalls, gumboots, socks, bottles andbeanies.

• Sequential road sign series

• Website home page
