The team of Brecon Cameron, Justin Coxhead, Flynn Sunderland and Paul van Loon recently competed in the finals of the Waikato EVolocity Electric vehicle challenge.
As a first time entry they were pleased to win the Economy Challenge. This required the four boys to drive six laps of the Hamilton Kart Club track in the fastest time but with the most economical use of electrical energy. Next year the team hopes to be more competitive as there are a number of categories they can compete in, including head to head drag racing, stopping distance, street circuit, innovation (collision detection and avoidance). The team would like to thank all the parents for their support and Bruce Jonson for his support and knowledge.
