2016 Netball Season

Kathryn O'Sullivan —

Katikati College Netball has achieved great heights this year with 10 of our 14 teams making their semi-finals, 5 going onto their finals and 2 teams winning their division.

The two winning teams were the 7A team coached by Justine James and the Development 2 team coached by Year 12 students Anna Noble and Lauryn Tipper.

The Senior A team achieved what had not been achieved in many years by reaching the semi-final in the A grade competition. This team is young with the core of them being Year 11 so they have an exciting future ahead of them with Coach, Sue Spiers, at the helm.

The 8A team coached by Jaime Manukau, also had an extremely pleasing result at the prestigious AIMS tournament coming third in the B Grade. Players Janna De Graaf and Ruby Tawa were named in the tournament team and Ruby was named best shooter for the tournament.

I would like to acknowledge all the parents, supporters, coaches, managers and umpires who give their time and energy to support our girls. We are incredibly lucky to have such a strong Netball community who care for each other. It is with this strong backing that our girls can achieve and grow.
