Year 10 students finding new homes for animals

Myah Mason, Chloe Moore, Monika Ross —

For our Year 10 Social Studies class we had to carry out some form of social action. We decided to do something involving animals.

We contacted the Waihi SPCA, and got two cats, Bronson and Andy, from them. They were re-homed within a week of each other. We then contacted the Katikati dog pound and we now have a dog called Chase who needs a home.

Chase is a male Huntaway X approx. 10 mths with a very sweet and loyal nature. He is young and has had no training, so is still a bit jumpy, but with a little work, he will make a wonderful pet. He just craves company and affection, something he has clearly not seen much of.

He has been rescued by the Western Bay of Plenty District Council, so, like all their dogs being re homed, he will be de-sexed, have had his first vaccination, be registered, micro chipped, vet checked and treated for fleas and worms. There is an adoption fee of $220 to help cover some of these costs.

If you are interested in having a chat about Chase, then please phone Shelley 027 2911 212.

Thank you from
