E Pro 8
Well a long season of E Pro 8 is finally over, with five different events over many months.
There has been a lot of success and several highlights.
Highlight one was winning the intermediate aged heat (Miles Jonson, Tim Wiebes and Bradley Scott) and coming second at the same event (Hannah Gourlay, Kara McCormick, Jacob Doidge and Leo Willacy) with both teams progressing to the semifinals and also the finals for the BOP. (Liam Kean joined the boys team for the semifinals and finals.) Highlight two was having six teams entered for the heats! At the finals the results were encouraging. The team with Hannah, Kara, Leo and Jacob placing 5th in the BOP and the other team placing 8th. It was a superb effort given there were over 40 teams in the heats and semifinals that they had to beat to get to the finals!
Highlight three was winning the Waikato heats with the Year 9 and 10 team coming 3rd in the Waikato Finals. Well done to Ben Tanner, Jack Preston, Samuel Vickers and Austin Millar. Well done also to all the other students who went over and competed. Thanks to Kate from Kates Cabs for taking our teams over in the minivan. While three of the five events were held under Level 2 Covid-19 restrictions and very limited access for parents, I always felt well supported and it was great to return to Level 1 for the semis and finals of the intermediate rounds.
