Animals are used in teaching for a variety of reasons. Most classroom animal use in New Zealand involves family pets brought to school for simple observation and behaviour studies and for learning the responsibilities of humane care.
Weekly Zoom sessions are being held to support parents of primary and intermediate aged children with ideas and resources on a range of common problems.
Year 9 Art students were keen to show kotahitanga recently by participating in a Katikati Festival of Arts activity, their contribution being a very large, bright and cheerful sunflower.

Throughout these unusual times we have been unable to put on any performances for the wider community with our many talented musicians, however the music department has been a hive of activity.

This term started off with the team spending time in the pool, getting comfortable upside down in a kayak, learning how to rescue others, paddling techniques, and wet exiting.

On Saturday 20 November, the Pasifika Group went on their break up dinner. It was a night of celebration, laughter, dance, singing, and lots of delicious food!

In June 2021 I had the privilege of being selected as an intern for the performing arts company Showquest when they came to Tauranga.
We are seeking suitable candidates for casual work assisting in the shop mid to end of January 2022 although there may be extra work available some Saturdays this November.

The Katikati Innovative Horticulture Trust has now raised the $615,000 needed for the construction of a new Horticulture Centre at the College.

Congratulations to all the Visual Arts students who completed their external portfolio projects! Over the past several weeks, Senior Painting, Design, Printmaking and Photography students have been very focussed and busy, and have submitted outstanding quality work.
The size and placement of the new Horticulture Centre means that a number of garden plots have to go.
