"Farewell and Thank You for Your Dedication and Impact!"
Farewell Rhiannon Myers and Cathy McGeady, at the end of Term 1. Thank you for everything and best wishes on your next journey!
When Rhiannon started as our school librarian in February 2022, she quickly became a key member of our school. Over the past few years, she transformed the library into a vibrant space where students and staff could escape into the world of books. 📖Her passion for reading and learning was evident in everything she did, from curating a dynamic collection of books to creating a welcoming atmosphere.
Rhiannon’s dedication went beyond managing the library. She worked hard to purchase new books and organised successful book fairs that generated excitement and raised significant funds for the library. Alongside her work in the library, Rhiannon also managed the school’s resource room, supporting both teachers and students by providing materials and resources as needed.
What truly set Rhiannon apart was her genuine care for everyone around her. She went out of her way to make each student feel welcomed and fostered a lasting love of reading. Her kindness, organisational skills, and enthusiasm made her a beloved member of our school.
As Rhiannon moves on to a new role with the Western Bay of Plenty Library, we will miss her greatly. We are grateful for her incredible contributions and wish her all the best in this exciting new chapter. She will always have a special place in our hearts.📚
👧As we prepare to say goodbye to Cathy McGeady, we reflect on her incredible journey with Katikati Primary School. Throughout her time with us, Cathy has been a dedicated teacher in both the Junior and Middle School, bringing her warmth and expertise to countless students.
Her journey began in February 2005 through to June 2013, where she made a significant impact before spending several years overseas. Returning in 2021, Cathy continued her outstanding work at Katikati Primary, taking on a variety of roles. From leading the Kiwi Ferns environmental group to supporting PB4L initiatives, running Calf Club, and planting native plants to enrich our school environment, Cathy’s contributions have been invaluable.
Now, as Cathy heads back to her roots in Christchurch, we know she’ll continue to touch lives with the same passion and dedication that has made her such a treasured member of our school. Cathy, thank you for everything you’ve done for our students at Katikati Primary. You will be deeply missed, and we wish you all the best in this next chapter.📝
