An update on sports at our school. This week, read about North Cluster Swimming, Hockey and Rock Climbing

🏊‍♀️ NORTH CLUSTER SWIM SPORTS

Thursday 27th March

Another successful day of swimming was had at the Dave Hume Pool last week for the North Cluster Swimming Sports as the best of the best Year 5/6 swimmers from all the North Cluster Schools competed to qualify for the 2025 WBOP Inter-school Primary School Swimming Championships. Children were entered from 11 different schools from Bethlehem College through to Waihi Schools. Thankfully the weather played its part and made it much more enjoyable for all the competitors, spectators and supporters. Special thanks to Tess Hennessy from the Dave Hume Pool for judging, Steve on marshalling and to our parents and grandparents who volunteered to start our races, help out on the recording table and timekeeping. Thank you also to the KKPS POTS group who were selling food and drinks for us. KKPS entered a team of 13 this year.

Max Denman – Yr 6 Boys : 3rd Place – 1L backstroke and 3rd Place – 2L backstroke

All the best to Max who now goes on to compete at the WBOP Swimming Sports held at Baywave TECT Aquatic & Leisure Centre on Wed 9th April.

🏑YEAR 1/2 ‘HAVE A GO’ HOCKEY SESSIONS

Thank you to Ruth from the Tauranga Hockey Club who came out to Katikati to run class sessions for our Year 1 and Year 2 children. This was a great opportunity to give our tamariki the experience to try this awesome sport and having a go on the Hockey Turf at Katikati College made it even more exciting. See the posters below if your Year 1-3 child is interested in playing hockey in Term 2 or Term 3.
