2024 Volunteers
We are thrilled to have over 60 dedicated volunteers from our Parents Group (POT’S), Breakfast Club, Reading, Sports and Runanga (support agency).
A huge thank you to each and every one of you! It was absolutely wonderful to see so many of our amazing volunteers at our recent morning tea. While not everyone could attend, it’s vital for us to express how incredibly impactful your contributions are to our school community.
Parents of the School (POT’S): POT’s tirelessly raise funds for our school, which go towards essential resources like devices for our children. Their events are always a hit—just ask the kids about their favorite moments of the year, and POT’s events will surely top the list. They eagerly anticipate the two discos, donut day, purchasing Scholastics books, creating the annual calendar, and selling Christmas raffle tickets with the POT’s team. Your hard work is deeply appreciated, and it makes a significant difference in our children's lives.
Breakfast Club: Our Breakfast Club has been a cornerstone of support for many years with some of our volunteers in Breakfast Club reaching their 17th year. We know that children learn better when they start their day with a good food. Sadly, some children need breakfast and lunches regularly, but your efforts make a big difference, and all our children are always welcome. Feeding our 540 students is no small feat! We are grateful for the dedication of our volunteers, some of whom have been with us for over 15 years. A special shout-out to Sandra, who prepares packed lunches daily for those in need. Parents can always reach out to the school office to ensure their child receives a meal—no questions asked!
Runanga (Support Agency): Thank you to Runanga for their diverse support roles, assisting the children in greatest need, both at school and home. Your expertise and seamless weekly collaboration help set our students up for success. Your additional help in the Breakfast Club is also greatly appreciated.
Reading Volunteers: For many years, our reading volunteers have made a tremendous impact. Some children naturally receive support outside of school, while others, due to busy family lives, might not have as much time for reading. Your consistent efforts alongside our teachers ensure significant progress for our students, setting them up for success. A special mention to Lawrence, who is now in his 20th year of volunteering—your dedication is nothing short of amazing!
Sports Volunteers: Sports play a vital role in our children's education. Despite our rural setting, our students have the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities, thanks to the support of our parent volunteers who act as managers, coaches, and provide transportation. Your involvement is crucial for our children’s participation in sport activities.
Once again, we extend our heartfelt thanks to every volunteer. Whether you contribute a little or a lot, every minute matters, and we couldn't do it without you. We hope you enjoyed the morning tea as much as we enjoyed having you there.
