7th February is now a Teacher Only Day!

The Ministry of Education has confirmed that in 2025 every primary school will be given two Teacher Only Days to help teachers with the extensive changes to the Maths curriculum.

The new curriculum has many positive elements to it and should be a really positive change for the children. We want to make sure that our staff are well equipped to start using the new curriculum right from the beginning of the new year, so are going to take the 7th February as a training day. This means that the children will start back at school on Monday the 10th February. The 7th February, being a Friday, was always going to be a bit of a strange day to start back. This way families will have the opportunity to have one last long weekend with tamariki if they would like to and it will prevent us from having to close the school mid-term one for a Teacher Only Day.
