Seaweek – Kaupapa Moana - is New Zealand’s annual week celebrating the sea.

🌊🐠Seaweek is an opportunity for all ages to discover the ways our lives are connected to the sea.🦀🌊

This week the children will be taking part in a range of activities bringing them closer to our amazing ocean! Every March, we dive into fun events and community projects that help us connect with the ocean and learn how to protect it. Check out these awesome activities through the Seaweek website:

🌊🐠 Exciting Adventures in Room 3! 🐠🌊

Hey, Room 3 families! The kids have been diving deep into the wonders of the ocean! We've been exploring the incredible sea creatures that live below the surface and learning about the ocean food chain – who eats what in the big blue sea! 🌊🐟

We’re also discovering the different layers of the ocean and what amazing creatures call each one home! Plus, we’re getting serious about keeping our oceans clean and healthy by learning how to keep rubbish out of our waterways. 🗑️💧

Later this term, we’ve got a special visitor from Zero Waste Education. They’ll help us figure out “Is That Rubbish?” and give us tips on how we can reduce waste. Then, we’ll head to the Uretara Stream to do our part by picking up rubbish and protecting our oceans and their amazing creatures.

It’s going to be a splash of fun, learning, and making a real difference! 🌊✨
