First Day At School: What You Need to Know
Here's your quick guide for a smooth start on Monday 10th February.
New Enrolments
✔️ School Office is open from 8am
✔️ Pick up your forms from the office to take to your new teacher
✔️ We will show you to your classroom
Current Student at KKPS
Go to your classroom and meet up with your teacher and friends.
Stationery
Order on line now or pop into Bay Office Products. Check out newsletter for other details.
Medication
If your child takes regular medication ie asthma inhaler, Rubifen etc, please pop into the office and complete the necessary forms.
All medication is held at the school office.
School Hours
✔️ School Gates Open 8am
✔️ Class Starts 8.45am
✔️ Morning Tea 11.00am to 11.40am
✔️ Lunch 1.00pm to 1.40pm
✔️ Class Ends 2.50pm
For your child's safety, please follow these instructions:
Arrive as close to 8.30am as possible. Teachers are not actively supervising children before this time.
Collect children or ensure they walk home promptly after the school bell rings.
The junior playground is not supervised after school and is not a safe place for children to stay.
After school supervision is available through the Katikids after school care programme.
Picking up your child when school ends? We ask that you wait outside the school grounds until 2.45pm. Children can be easily distracted when parents are near the classrooms. Thank you for your understanding.
School Security - Gates
Only one gate is open during school hours. Please use the gate by the School Hall and Admin Carpark.
Drop-Off and Pick-Up Guidelines
For the safety of our children, please follow these guidelines:
Visitors’ parking spaces are located to the right of the school.
The pull-in area outside rooms 1 and 2 is for drop-off only and is patrolled by a council parking officer.
Do not block the neighbour’s driveway when using the drop-off area.
Extra parking is available at St Peter’s Church on Beach Road and the Bowling Club on Park Road, unless they have a function.
After School Care
KatiKids After School Care offers a safe and enjoyable environment for children aged 5 to 13. Located on school grounds, the program is flexible, providing care whether you need just an hour, the whole afternoon, a full week, or just one day.
