"Best Girl" in Chess Power Champions Trophy AND 1ST in Chess Power Teams National Finals

On 28 October 5 of Kaurilands Chess Team played the CHESS POWER TEAMS NATIONAL FINALS, competing with 25 other Primary School teams from Northland to Invercargill (134 players altogether). 

After 9 rounds of Chess, the points of the 4 best players were added up and Kaurilands took out the 1st Prize.

The individual results, out of 134 participants, were:

2nd overall: Anya 8 points (out of 9 possible)
3rd overall: Yolanda 7.5 points
13th overall: Immanuel 6.5 points
18th overall: Jahmayn 6 points 
 And a very respectable 3 points for Orlando (Year 3). 
Anya and Yolanda also came 1st and 2nd in the "Best Girl" category.

On the previous day,  27 October, the CHESS POWER CHAMPIONS TROPHY was held.  Here 237 students from Primary, Intermediate and Secondary Schools competed in one big group.  The outstanding result from Kaurilands perspective was Yolanda's win of the "Best Girl" category overall (including Intermediate and Secondary!!). The individual results were:

9th overall: Yolanda (Best Girl & 2nd Junior) 7 points from 9 games
22nd overall: Anya (2nd Best Girl & 3rd Junior) 6.5 points
66th overall: Immanuel 5.5 points
