Principal's Message

Jo Augustine —

Kia ora e te whānau

Thank you to all our families who attended the student conferences last week.  It was a fantastic opportunity to work together with you all.  We found the conferences to be extremely helpful and informative when setting goals for our children.  Please contact us at any time if you would like to discuss anything further.

As part of our policy review cycle, we have identified an area requiring immediate attention.  From Monday 3rd August parents must sign in when coming into school for meetings, as parent helpers, to run an Adventure Afternoon, take a sports team, coming for an enrolment meeting etc, anytime you are staying on site for a period of time, you will also need to sign out when you leave!  Parents will need to sign in and out at the office. You will not need to sign in or out if you are dropping off or picking up your children or their property such as lunchboxes. If you are staying at school for any length of time you will need to wear a sticker to show you have signed in.

The latest COVID advice from the Ministry of Health 31.7.20

Children and staff need to stay away from school when unwell.  This includes symptoms such as a runny nose, sore throat, sneezing, high temperatures, shortness of breath.  If other siblings or family members are well, they are fine to come to school.

If a family member is being or has been tested for Covid 19 as a result of showing any of the above symptoms, it is now ok to send non symptomatic family members to school. The exception to this is if a family member works in a quarantine facility, airport or shipping vessel, or has arrived in New Zealand from overseas.

I hope this makes sense. If you have any questions please email or phone to discuss.

We will continue to take precautions at school, such as using hand sanitiser and encouraging regular hand washing. If you have any concerns of any kind, please ring the Covid 19 HEALTHLINE 0800 358 54 53.
