Kaurilands Poets
We have some wonderful poets at Kaurilands, check out the amazing pieces below:
Vaughn from Room 20 won the Junior category in the Love Titirangi Poetry competition. What a great poem Vaughn - well done!
Save the Planet - by Vaughn Rm 20
Plastic things people use
Plastic waste people abuse
It goes in the ocean and it is not safe
For sea creatures around our dangerous waste
Recycle your plastic every day
You should not just throw it away!
Nina from Room 6 also wrote a lovely poem about the beach:
The Beach
The sun is shining the sand is soft
the waves are crashing against the rocks
My feet are burning in the sand
and the sun is finally up again.
Esther from Rm 6 also wrote about the beach
Remembering summer In cold winter days…..
My eyes remember the big waves crashing into them
My nose remembers the fresh smell of fish and chips
My mouth remembers the cold ice-cream goodness
My feet remember the sand in between my toes
My ears remember the annoying cicadas praying
My mind remembers that summer will be back again
and Ciara from Rm 7 had to write an "opposites" poem - she had to fill in the blanks and make the words rhyme:
I love "food like curry and rice"
I dislike "small noises like squeaking mice"
I have "a cute pet that sleeps on my rug"
I want "another pet that I can cuddle and hug"
My friends say I am "lots of fun"
My family says I am "number one"
One day I will "become a singer"
I will never "be stung by a bee's stinger"
My favourite foods are "Pizza and Candy"
I'll never eat "something soggy and sandy"
I feel sad when "animals die"
I feel happy when "I look at the sky"
I feel safe when "my family's near"
I feel scared when "they disappear".
Fantastic work guys!!!😊😍
