News from the Library

Laura the Librarian —

The Library is Open!

Our wonderful new library is open and has been very busy for the past two weeks. We are loving having our tamariki back in the library and they have been enjoying getting new books. Please feel free to pop in and see us.

The library is open everyday before school from 8.30am, every lunchtime and after school until 3.30pm.

Books can be issued and returned any day of the week, children do not have to wait for their class library day. Books that were issued before the library closed for refurbishment need to be returned so that they can be included in our stocktake and the children can get new books out. If you are having trouble finding a book please get in touch and we can advise you of the next steps.

Year 1s and Year 2s can borrow three books out at a time.

Year 3s can borrow up to three books issued for home plus one tote tray book.

Year 4s can borrow up to four books issued for home plus one tote tray book.

Year 5s can borrow up to five books issued for home plus one tote tray book.

Year 6s can borrow up to six books issued for home plus one tote tray book.

All children need a bag to take their library books home (tote tray books stay in class in their tote tray). Library bags are available from the school office or alternatively a recycle shopper bag or tote bag can be used. This protects the books from damage.

Pizza Wheels

We are taking part in this year's Hell Pizza Reading Challenge - children will receive a stamp on their pizza wheel for each book they read. After 7 books they can receive a free kids' Hell pizza. The Reading Challenge runs until January 2024. Find out more here.
