News from Rūma 23
As part of our space inquiry Room 23 has been learning about the moon and astronauts.
After reading the book ‘Touch the Moon’ by Phil Cummings and Coral Tulloch, we decided to create our own astronaut including the reflection of what our astronaut can see. We first decorated our astronauts, then used pastels to create the reflection and the moon and the stars. Check out some of our astronauts below.
We also learnt lots of amazing facts about the moon. Here are a few examples:
'The moon goes around the earth and it has no oxygen. It’s rocky and the moon causes the waves on earth. Also sometimes the sun goes behind the moon.' By Zoey
'The moon has no oxygen and also no gravity. Also the moon has craters. Big ones too. If you step on the moon your footprints never, ever go away.' By Mia
