A beautiful morning for our Matariki celebrations!

Principal's Message

Jo Augustine —

Kia ora e te whānau

Thank you to all those who attended our Matariki celebrations today - whether that was the hikoi and parakuihi or one of the assemblies.  We have been blessed with a stunning day to celebrate with our Kaurilands community.  We are proud to mark this significant event every year.  Special thanks to Whaea Kim, Matua Grant, our kaumatua Warahi and Linda Paki, Jackie and Sandra and all the other staff who worked so hard to prepare this year's celebration.  It was wonderful to be back in our school hall which is so beautifully decorated with Matariki art from all our tamariki.  I feel very proud on days like this.

"Matariki is a time to consider what we have gathered in the last year, remember those we've lost and set plans for the future.  A time to be together, unified in a celebration that is unique to Aotearoa.

Ngā mihi o te tau hou Māori - The best of wishes for the Māori New Year".
