News from Rūma 1a

Gracie Derbyshire —

In our recent project, students in Room 1a explored Taniwha, mythical creatures from Māori culture. They used different colours to show their place in their families: cool colour for the oldest, hot colours for the youngest, and a rainbow for middle children.

This project was not just about art. It was a chance for students to talk about their families and share stories. Each artwork reflects their unique family roles and connections. I was amazed by how much our students enjoyed this project. Their enthusiasm and creativity shone through!
