Principal's Message

Jo Augustine —

Kia ora e te whānau

Congratulations to all end of term award winners.  We are very proud of you all!

I can't believe we are at the end of Term 2!  It has been extremely busy and I know everyone is really looking forward to a well deserved break.

I am hopeful that our hall will be open for use from the beginning of Term 3 but I guess there is not a 100% guarantee this will be the case.  Other projects are swinging into action as of Monday 12 July - the turf area and the hall court areas are both having major makeovers which are likely to take approximately 6 weeks to complete.  Later in the year we are planning on installing a new playground in the Senior area which will complete the redo.  I have attached the drawings of what these areas have been designed to look like.  There will be the inevitable consequences of having projects underway which happen during school time and we are very aware this will come with some compromises and plans to ensure Health & Safety but will be worthwhile in the long run!  We are excited about how our new court areas will look and function.

Next term we welcome a new Associate Principal - Alana McKenzie who is currently the AP at Glen Eden Primary School.  We will welcome Alana at a pōwhiri at 11.30am on Monday 26 July.  We hope this will be in the hall but will make a contingency plan just in case!  We are really looking forward to working with Alana and her joining our team.

Thanks for the incredible support for Matariki - it truly is a unique and special event for our community. What a beautiful morning it was to celebrate the Māori New Year.

He aha te me a nui o te ao?

He tāngata, he tāngata, he tāngata.

What is the most important thing in the world?

It is the people, it is the people, it is the people.

To you all wonderful whānau, thank you for everything you do to support us, it is so appreciated.

Have a happy and safe break with your children and we will see you all on Monday 26 July.
