We began this term focusing on wellbeing. I asked the tamariki what they thought was the best part of themselves. They then wrote about that part, here are some of their gems.

THE BEST PART OF ME

The best part of me is my eyes because I can see colours.

Without them there would be pitch black.

I can see books. My eyes are like a key to wonder! Joshua 

I love the fact that my nose can smell a blood red rose and my love heart pink lips can smile beautiful warm smiles. My shiny white teeth can chomp up all the yummiest things. Hannah

My soft hands can do art and crafts and they can play, climb and catch butterflies. My wonderful hands can swim like a mermaid.  I have fabulous feet. They can dance like a ballerina. Maddi

This body part is special because it can do multiple things. I like this body part because if I didn't have them I wouldn't be able to eat my favourite dinner! Koby

My small hands are as strong as a tiger.  They are also wrinkly. My hands are excellent at doing gaming, writing and drawing. Without my small hands I wouldn't be able to feel, hold or do sports. Max

There I was sitting still as a snail thinking about the best part of me. Finally I got it! My smart brain! My brain is special to me because it helps me think, problem solve, do puzzles and process words. Aidan

I believe that the best part of me is my hair. I like my hair because it is soft and very straight and is as brown as a bear. When I go outside my hair shines in the sun like a star. I love my hair because I can braid it and tie it up into a long ponytail. My Hair goes all the way down to the middle of my back. When my hair is wet it goes as dark as space. Flo

My wrists are fascinating and pretty cool too. They are not too big and not too small. Wow! My wrists may not be other people's favourite body part, but it's mine. My wrists are as cool as the beach! Luca

My brain helps me to memorise long stories and figure out where puzzle pieces go. Inside my brain I see colourful pictures and patterns that look like droughts and alien messages. It helps me know how to read, write and do maths. My brain is as clever as a Robot. Emma

My whole life I have had this awesome thing. It is as smart as a dolphin and it has kept on growing and growing ever since I was born. It controls every single piece of my wonderful body. It might not be as big as other ones but it does the job and it thinks of all the answers to every smart question I ask it to solve. Isaac

My eyes are as blue as the ocean. My dad’s eyes are as blue as the sky like mine. When the sun shines in my eyes, they sparkle and shimmer as pretty as glitter. I like my eyes because they help me read and do puzzles. My eyes also help me to watch movies and do art. Taylor

The warm banging of my heart became as loud as a bongo drum. My amazing heart can pump blood like a mosquito biting and it also keeps me alive. Oh, and it can help me care for other people when they're unhappy. Kezia

The very best part of me is my legs. They are strong and they are long. My legs help me walk and run. My legs are as speedy as a cheetah. They help me jump and have fun. Adam

Hands, hands, hands, I can't believe you're a thing. Without you I wouldn’t be able to do anything. With you I can do a lot. You’re always on my side sticking to me like glue and you’re never going to leave me. My hands are big and strong and they are as flexible as a gymnast.  Perryn

I love my symmetrical long legs. My legs are as fit as a cheetah's legs. The reason I like my legs is because without them I wouldn't be able to play sports, like football. I wouldn't be able to do trampolining or scooting. It would be a world without nature. It would be a disaster! Tommy

I love my face. My face has a beautiful mouth with white teeth. My teeth can eat and communicate. My hair is brown and snuggly. My lovely lips are so pink and red I can put lipstick on. My face is as cool as a pool and my cheeks are as red as a volcano!I love my eyes. They can see and blink. My eyes are as oval as a rugby ball. Charlotte

I am unique and so I just love everything about myself. My arms are strong like a gorilla. My legs are sporty like a dolphin they help me play soccer and swim. My eyes help me see and look. My chest is big and powerful and resistant.  My mouth helps me talk, whisper and shout. My brain helps me think and controls my body. My ears help me listen to sounds. My nose can smell nice aromas and bad scents.My lungs help me breathe. My heart can beat blood around my body. Vaughn

No one has a heart just like me. My heart is kind, I can show people how much I care about them with my Heart. My heart is important because it can love.My beautiful heart is special because I'm special, I have the privilege of choosing whether I am special or not, and I choose to be special! Poppy

My legs are the best part of me because if I didn't have them then I wouldn't be able to jump as high as a kangaroo, run as fast as a cheetah or do front flips! It would be so boring without my strong legs. I love my legs because they are very speedy and fast just like a cheetah. Bastien

I love my arms and feet. My fantastic feet can jump, run and play. Without my feet I couldn't do my favourite things, my feet help me stay standing. They help me with my world. My arms are as strong as a lion. My arms can protect me and save me when I'm in trouble. Mia

I think the best part of me is my hands. I love this part because it is unique to me. No one has hands like mine. This part is the best because without them I wouldn't be able to play video games. I like my grubby, big hands because they can do art and pick up my food. Without my hands I wouldn't be able to do a lot of things. My hands are strong like godzilla. Tai

Whenever I look at the sun my eyes start to sparkle and shine brightly. My eyes are pretty, and as sweet as dark chocolate. I like my eyes because they’re brown like brownies yummy! My eyes are as beautiful as my heart, warm and caring. Rosie

I really like my hands because they are amazing at everything! I can do an exquisite handstand and cartwheel with them and that makes me happy. I can also do lots of beautiful artwork which is one of my hobbies. Their smooth surface cover my eyes when I'm watching a scary movie or when I'm out in the bright sunshine. My hands are the icing on the cake.  Meela

I think the best part of me are my legs. Without my legs I would not be able to walk or go to fun places. If I didn't have my legs I wouldn't be able to jump or to spin. Without my legs it would be impossible to climb with just my arm’s. My legs are also the best part of me because I can hop, run, climb, walk most of all ,they help me to have fun! Kirsten

These two things are known for their sparkle, shimmer, shine and their beautiful colour. They’re beautiful because they help me to see and without my eyes, I wouldn’t be able to do anything!  My eyes are beautiful just like the sunset when the sky is purple like a pearl. I think my eyes are the best part of me because they are like a mirror and they sparkle and shine. Cushla

I was born to do soccer and that’s why I like my legs. They help me to skillfully kick the ball and score goals. I like my legs, they’re the best in the world. Ejaaz

This is an amazingly strong muscle that lives inside me. My heart is kind and helps me show love to all the people that I know and to the people I haven’t met yet. My heart is the very best part of me. Misha
