KAURILANDS SCHOOL

FAMOUS CULTURAL PERFORMANCE EVENING

Dear Whānau

On Thursday the 21st of September 2017, Kaurilands School will be holding its annual cultural performance evening. The Performing Arts, Māori and Pasifika teams are working in partnership to develop a fun, dynamic and inclusive performance evening that captures the diverse cultures represented here at Kaurilands School. This was a huge success last year and we are hoping this year will be even bigger and better.

If your child is interested in performing they would have received an expression of interest form. Please fill this in and return to Kylie in room 4 before the end of term two. Even if your child is not quite sure what they would like to do yet, that’s ok. We just need to get an idea of how many performance items there will be.

CAN YOU HELP WITH ANY OF THE FOLLOWING?

  • Supporting a performance group to practice their item during a lunch time one day a week?

  • Do you have an area of skill or expertise and would love to share this with some children? I’m sure we can find a group for you to work with!

  • Can you support a group of teachers with creating their performance item? We need all the help we can get!

  • Are you the person to lead the creation of a parent item? We have some pretty talented parents out there! Don’t miss your chance to shine!

  • Do you have skills and/or resources to help out with the music, costumes, lighting etc?

Last year we had many family members perform alongside their tamariki on the night. It made the event all that more special. We would love to have all of you and more back on stage this year!

We look forward to hearing from you,

Kylie and the Performing Arts team
