Thanks to those of you who took the time to vote in the recent school board election. Most of what the school board does happens behind the scenes, so it was great to see a good level of engagement and interest.

I want to acknowledge the great work done by our outgoing board members: Sarah Barrett- Hamilton, Ian Ferguson, Katharine Brown, and Susanna Barthow. Sarah has been a board member for more than six years, Ian for around five, and Katharine and Susanna for a little over three. Each of them has made a very valuable contribution, and I’m sorry to see them go.

While we will miss outgoing board members, we have a wonderful new board. Jaimee Kirby-Brown and I have been re-elected (thank you for showing us your support), and we are joined by Trinette Giborees-Smith, Anne Boniface, and Mustafa Derbashi. I’m excited about what the new board will be able to achieve over the next three years.

Finally, thanks to those people who put their names forward but weren’t successful. We were lucky to have such an exceptional group of candidates to choose from.
