NZ Book Awards Competition Winners

To celebrate the wonderful NZ Book Awards for Children & Young People, we ran a competition where our students had to choose the book that they thought would win an award. The above students correctly guessed a winning book and got their names picked out of the prize hat. Here they are with their prizes and pizza wheels!

Hell Pizza Wheels

Below are some of our awesome students who have completed their Hell Pizza Wheels so far this term!  Students read seven books and answer a question, or write a book review of each, and they earn a free kids size Hell Pizza. We are very proud of them! The Hell Pizza Wheels will be running until the end of this year so there is still plenty of time to start one!

Book Week

We will be celebrating our school Book Week in the last week of Term 3 from Monday 23rd until Friday 27th September. We will be holding a Scholastic Book Fair in the Library, as well having two visiting authors and a Book Parade!

Our Book Parade will be on Wednesday 25th September at 9.15am and we encourage everyon to dress up as their favourite book character. 

We are incredibly excited to host the bestselling authors Sally Sutton and Graci Kim. Sally will be visiting our junior and middle students on Thursday 26th September and Graci Kim will be visiting our senior students on Friday 27th September.

There will be competitions and a week of celebrating our love of books.

Wet Library Books/Lost Library Books

Unfortunately, we have had a number of books returned to the Library either wet or damaged, or not returned at all as they have been lost.

Please can you ensure your child(s) library books go home and are brought back to school in a Library Bag. Please keep them away from drink bottles in school bags and ensure that drink bottle lids are closed. Please also store library books in your child's Library Bag at home so that they can be easily found.

If a book is damaged we will try in the first instance to repair the book. However if we are unable to save the book we may ask for a replacement fee.
