In Rūma Rima we loved learning all about Tonga during Tongan Language Week.  We read a book about a young innovator who created an electric version of the traditional Tongan drum.  We incorporated our learning about technology this term and learned all about the technical aspects of electric musical instruments.

We made our own prototypes!  They have been decorated using our knowledge of the Tongan Ngatu patterns.  Our drums are colourful, loud and create an awesome sound when played in unison!
