News from the Library

Laura the Librarian —

It's been a busy term in the Library. We have issued over 17,000 books this term! Sometimes it can be tricky for children to choose books that are just right for them and their level of reading. The '5 Finger Strategy' is a quick and easy way to choose the right books. Have a look at the information sheet below.

Kaurilands eplatform audio and ebooks

All students have access to the Kaurilands eplatform to read ebooks and listen to audiobooks anytime and anywhere. Kaurilands School eplatform

As well as picture books, fiction and non fiction, students have access to levelled readers and decodable phonic readers. Audiobooks are a brilliant way the whole family can enjoy a story together, especially on long car journeys.

All Kaurilands students have their own login:

Username: First name.First two letters of surname eg Joe.Bl

Password: Library1

For any issues please contact laurat@kaurilands.school.nz

Top tips

  1. Download the ePlatform app from the Apple and Google Play app stores. Also available on PCs, laptops and eReaders.

  2. Look for your library and log in - you’ll only need to do this once.

  3. Search for, borrow and read or listen to any book you want!

  4. Use the Settings Wizard’ comfort reading options to suit your needs. (These Settings were created especially for dyslexic and visually impaired readers but can enhance every reader’s experience.)

  5. Download first in Wi-Fi spaces or before you leave home.
