Hall Weathertightness Project

Jo Augustine —

Kia ora e te whānau

As of Monday we will be underway with our first building project of the year - the weathertightness work required on our hall. The project is anticipated to take 10 weeks taking us through until approximately the end of May. The project will cause some inconvenience to the running of school but as always we will adapt. Some changes to note: Before and after school care will run in Rūma Kowhai. This will include the end of Term 1 school holiday programme. We will not be able to use the hall toilets as they will be part of the project scope. Most importantly, Kaurilands Kitchen will continue to run but will be based in our wharekai which is at the back of the carpark. Zoe will operate as usual Tuesday - Friday. Please continue to support Zoe even though you might have to walk just a little bit further to get your coffee!

During the weathertightness project a small part of our staff carpark will be fenced and this will jut out into the concrete area outside the hall slightly, run down the side of the staff carpark, partly along the front of the hall garden and completely block the main entrance to school. This will mean both the main entrance and side hall entrances will be closed off (see attachment). Our main entry points during the project will be the senior turf gate and the sandpit and wharekai entrances by the Junior areas. The staff carpark area will be locked from 8.15am each morning to ensure safe entry for children and families into school.

We are really sorry for the inconvenience this will cause over the time period but ultimately we are extending the life span of our much used hall into the future. If you have any questions or ideas please email me on joa@kaurilands.school.nz
