Hell's Pizza Reading Challenge
The following children have completed their Hell's Pizza Reading Challenge this term, with Ezana (Rm 9a) and Astin (Rm 24) completing two! Amazing mahi, Ezana and Astin!
We are very proud of all these children for reading seven books, answering questions about their books or writing book reviews. Awesome!
The Hell's Pizza Reading Challenge is organised by the New Zealand Book Award for Children and Young Adults and runs until the end of the school year.
If your child would like to take part all they have to do is let Laura or Mrs McDonald in the Library know.
Book Battle
We took along eight Year 5 and Year 6 children to the Barfoot & Thompson Interschool Book Battle 2023 held at Te Manawa Library, Westgate. Our two teams had to battle it out against 21 other teams from other schools. From the start of the year they have been reading six books and had to answer questions on these books and others in seven rounds of questions.
We are very proud of our teams who were both placed in the top ten and only one point and three points away from being in the top three.
It was a great day out celebrating reading and their shared love of books!

Cosy Library lunchtime reading
The kids have been escaping the wet and cold weather through their books in the Library. We love seeing our tamariki enjoying their reading together!
