The Year 1 syndicate is learning about transport and movement for our Inquiry topic so we all took a trip to MOTAT where we learned about flight.

Rūma Tekau mā Ono went to the Aviation Hall first, where we did some plane spotting.  Our instructor taught us about the four forces that act on a plane.  We walked through a wind tunnel to learn about drag and we did some experiments to learn about lift, thrust and weight.

We then travelled together in the tram to MOTAT 1 where we were able to have a go at making things move while learning about forces and motion.  We all had a great time and learned so much.
