Hells Pizza Wheels

Below are some of our awesome students who have completed their Hell Pizza Wheels so far this term!  Students read seven books and answer a question, or write a book review of each, and they earn a free kids size Hell Pizza. We are very proud of them! The Hell Pizza Wheels will be running until the end of this year so there is still plenty of time to start and finish one. Completed Wheels must be used by 31st January 2025.

We made a book!

Brother and sister, Toby and Ella, wrote and illustrated the wonderful picture book shown above. They worked on it with their grandad who lives in America. Toby and Ella have gifted their book to our Library. Ka Pai Toby and Ella!

Room 4b picture book themes

Room 4b have been celebrating picture books and using them to dig deeper and explore the powerful messages they contain. All students chose a picture book to explore and work on and showcase the theme. We were blown away by the range of books chosen and the work they created. Kai pai!

Staff and students' favourite picture books

Picture books are a wonderful choice for any age and we have been celebrating them in the Library this month. Staff have been sharing their favourite picture books with the school and we have been encouraging our students to share the picture books that they love.

Picture books are created to be shared and read aloud. They are important in developing children's literacy and language development. This is an excellent article outlining the benefits of picture books. We are very lucky to have a wonderful picture book collection in the school library You can pop in anytime before and after school to have a look and borrow some for the whānau.
