Kia Kaha! Te Wiki o te Reo Māori

Principal's Message

Kia ora whānau

"Te Reo Māori is living, dynamic and rich.  As you learn, you appreciate that diversity is the key to wellbeing and unity".

"Whāia te ara poutama o te reo ka tohatoha ai".

We have been celebrating Te Wiki o te Reo Māori at school this week in various ways.  While it is important to acknowledge this as a significant week, it is important that this is our practice every day.

This term our schoolwide focus has been kai.  We have been learning kupu (words) for the foods we eat and tikanga (cultural practices and etiquette) around food.  The Te Reo Ambassadors have created videos and given out Te Reo Rawe cards (Māori Language Gotchas).

We are committed to continuing our learning journey in Te Reo and tikanga Māori at our kura.

Arohanui
