Principal's Message

Jo Augustine —

Kia ora e te whānau

Winter has arrived and with it lots of coughs and colds!  Please attempt to get your children to dress warmly (we know that they don't feel the cold!) and have raincoats with them each day.

Last week Erin and I were lucky enough to accompany our year 6 student leaders to the National Young Leader Day (NYLD).  This was an amazing experience for our student leaders - hearing from inspirational speakers and participating in a large event with children from many other schools.  Thanks to Sarah Van't Hof who was the Director of the event for encouraging Kaurilands to be involved in this inspiring event which she directs every year.

Tomorrow night our Pasifika group are hosting an event with their families to celebrate what they have learned so far this year.  We are really looking forward to having the chance to see our children perform and have a talanoa and meal together.  This event coincides with Samoan language week which we have been celebrating throughout the school.

Please support Te Whānau Āwhina who are kicking of their fundraising events for the year with an online silent auction, see the article below.
