Our Chess students hit the high spots!

Anya from Rōpū Tahi  played at the World Cadet Chess Championship in Brazil and got 4 points out of 11 games in the Under 10 Girls section.

In local news, Titirangi School hosted a tournament for schools from our area, 8 of the 31 players were from Kaurilands. While Theo from Room 14  and Sheffa from Rōpū Rima (in his first ever Chess Tournament) gathered valuable experience, the more seasoned players blew their opponents out of the water finishing 1st to 6th place.

Sofia (Rōpū Toru)  and Mike (Rōpū Whitu)  won all their 7 games, Yolanda (Rōpū Whitu) got 6 ½ points, Immanuel (Rm 10) and Jahmayn (Rōpū Toru)  6 points and Elias (Rōpū Tahi)  5 points.

Kaurilands are very lucky to have such a fantastic Chess Team - very well done guys!
