to our fabulous students

School Office —

Have a look at some of our students' out of school achievements:

Bobbi from Rōpū Toru competed at another North Island Gymnastics competition on the 22nd July and came 1st overall!   1st on bars, 1st equal on floor, 2nd on vault and 1st overall Team for her Tristar club. She has one more competition in two weeks time and then will find out if she has qualified for Nationals and be a part of the Auckland team. Everyone at Kaurilands wishes Bobbi good luck!

Juno - Rōpū Whitu - did his passion project on the Waikumete Stream and Project Twin Streams and shared it on their Instagram feed.  This is a real  passion for Juno, during the summer months he is often down in the stream searching for eels which is a great learning environment for him and Juno has a good sense of Kaitiakitanga. Ka pai Juno!

Ruby in Rōpū Waru recieved player of the day for Bay Olympic girls 3rd Division Soccer. The team played away at Three Kings and were one player short the whole game with no subs either. They ran themselves into the ground and managed to Win 1-0 - a fantastic score!!!

Sonya (Rm 10) after her Jazz competition where she received highly commended for her first dance competition. Well done Sonya!

Eliza  Room 29 performed in her first dance medal test this weekend. She did a fantastic job and got a merit performance earning her a shiny gold medal.  She dances at the VCM Academy of Dance as a Rossette 2 pre-jazz grade.  Great stuff Eliza.

Just before the holidays Maeva - Rōpū Whitu received Player of the Day for her Kaurilands Stars Netball Team, while her brother Tui - Rōpū Iwa was rewarded with the Most Improved player for his Suburbs U7 Rugby Team the Bulldogs - mum and dad are very proud of both students for their achievements on the sports fields as well as their hard work in the classroom.

Maddie from Rōpū Iwa received  player of the day last Saturday for her hockey team, the Western Wiggles (Western Districts Hockey Club). She was awarded player of the day for 'scoring a goal and excellent tackling'!  Go Maddie!

A special mention to Madison in Room 30 who has been extremely brave and has had to endure weekly blood tests over the past two months.   She has had a very positive outlook and is still smiling even though she still has another four months of fortnightly blood tests. A special thank you to Violet Luatua, Madison's teacher,  for being so  amazingly supportive.  Keep up the tremendous effort Madison!

Willem from Rm 16  won Player of the Day at Ripper Rugby on his first time playing for his Rugby Team the Sharks at Suburbs Rugby, as you can see he was delighted and very proud of himself!  What a great start Willem!

Amadeia - Room 30 received the Player of the Day trophy for playing netball with the Kaurilands Fever Netball team .

Henry - Room 18 decided to hold a Magic Show at home for his friends in the school holidays.  He made tickets and practised very hard. It was a gold coin donation and he raised$32.60 on the day which he decided to donate  to 'homeless people' - Family Action (a charity he's supported in the past with the food drives he's organised).  So very thoughtful Henry, you are a star!

Ruby - Rōpū Tahi got player of the day for her team Kaurilands Stormers on Saturday.  After months off with a broken arm Ruby is finally back on the court and couldn't be happier. The Stormers came away with a win against HT United Turbos - 18/4.  Go Ruby!!!

Coco  (Year 1/Rm 20) received ‘Very Highly Commended’ on Sunday at her first jazz dancing competition.  Way to go Coco!

Lucy - Rōpū Whitu had a great game of netball,  played a couple of positions and  got lots of intercepts helping her team a great deal.

Ruby from Rōpū Tahi received  Player of the Day from her Netball team Newjaks.  The entire team play really well and Ruby's defence was outstanding and her team won as a result!  Great defence Ruby!
