News from Rūma 4b
Rūma Wha B ventured into the heart of the city to visit the New Zealand Maritime Museum this week. We had the opportunity to be exposed to the stories of Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei and learn about some of their taonga. We learnt about some of the different immigrant groups throughout Aotearoa’s history such as Chinese, Pasifika, Indian, British and Polish. We also learnt about the push and pull factors that cause people to migrate from their homelands and seek a better life elsewhere.
It was a wonderful day and an outstanding launch to our Term 3 Inquiry.
